North Region Teacher Spotlight

Stacey Cagle is the Teacher in the Spotlight. Stacey teaches at North Forsyth High School in Forsyth County. Though Stacey has taught Agriculture for only five years she is a veteran teacher for a total of thirteen years. Stacey attended Abraham Baldwin College and also The University of Georgia in Tifton.

Becoming a Agriculture Instructor was a fitting career choice for Stacey. She grew up in Charlton Georgia on her family’s tree farm. As a member of the Charlton FFA she competed in Forestry CDEs, was a chapter officer and showed cattle and market hogs. Stacey’s SAE also included working on a local horse farm and for a local veterinarian.

Stacey states, “I believe that every student has a purpose and that every student is in my classroom for a reason. My goal is to help each student find their purpose by providing them every opportunity available through the Agriculture program”. Stacey says that the most enjoyable part of being a Ag Teacher is building relationships and discovering her student’s personalities outside of the classroom through SAEs and CDEs. Stacey has provided training in thirteen different CDEs, including Livestock, Poultry, Horse, Land, Creed, Ag Mechanics, Public Speaking, Tractor Operations, Floral design and a few others.

Something fun to know about Stacey is while working at a Dude Ranch in Southwest Montana , one day on a trail ride she came upon a momma grizzy bear and her cubs. The mamma bear wasn’t happy with the intrusion and chased Stacey and other horseback riders for a mile.

I guess after that experience nothing can scare Stacey about Ag Education!
